Each of these positions play a vital role in the success of the Allen Elementary PTA. 


Executive Board Positions

These positions are elected to their posts on the April 27 General Board Meeting at 6p.m. in the Allen Elementary cafeteria. 


Executive board positions include:

  • President
  • Vice President of Membership
  • Vice President of Programs
  • Vice President of Fundraising - Business Sponsorships
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

Election Process

These positions are elected to their posts on the April 27 General Board Meeting at 6p.m. in the Allen Elementary cafeteria. The election process is as follows: 

  • March 30 at 6p.m. - the Nominating Committee established 
    • The nominating committee shall consist of 3 members and 2 alternates. The president shall not serve as a member of this committee nor appoint any member of this committee.
    • The Nominating Committee will review and make a recommendation for a proposed slate of officers 
    • Members of the nominating committee will not serve two consecutive terms on the committee.
    • The nominating committee will be approved at the March 30 general meeting prior to Art Night. 
  • Between March 30 and April 20: 
    • The parliamentarian shall schedule the first nominating committee meeting and provide the required information on the nomination and election process.
    • The nominating committee will meet to consider all nominations and may seek additional candidates during its deliberations. 
    • By majority vote of committee members present and voting, the nominating committee will form a recommended slate of officers and only submit one name for each position to be filled. 
    • This is only their recommendation for who they believe should hold the executive board positions. 
  • April 20 
    • The nominating committee report shall be published through regular publicity channels at least seven days before the election meeting. 
  • April 27 at 6p.m. - Election Meeting  
    • The Nominating Committee report will be read at the election meeting with the committee's recommendations for the executive board. 
    • At that time, anyone who was not put forth on the proposed slate of officers, can be nominated from the floor for consideration. 
    • If there is only one nominee for an office, election for that position may be by acclamation.
    • If a nomination comes from the floor, each candidate will have 2 minutes to give a speech to the membership, then votes will be cast by ballot. For the full detailed script, rules and counting committee information, visit Texas PTA's website

Committee Board Positions

These applications will be reviewed by the President after the April Election meeting and be recommended/reviewed by the Executive Board. If you have questions, email  


Committee positions include:

  • 5th Grade Coordinator - will be the lead 5th grade room parent, organize the 5th grade party and find ways to celebrate 5th graders at the Fun Run, etc. 
  • Arts & Culture Chair - plans the entire Art Night event and handles the Reflections competition
  • Book Fair Chair - plans and coordinates the fall and spring book fairs
  • Class Parties Chair - plans, organizes and executes the Winter, Friendship and End of Year Parties for the school
  • Communications Chair - Drafts, schedules and sends all email communications for the PTA.
  • Community Support - Help organize and implement Allen Elementary’s Community Donation Drives
  • Council Delegate - Serves as Allen Elementary PTA’s representative to the FISD Council of PTA
  • Family Events Chair - Help organize and implement Family Game Night and STEM Night
  • Father Involvement - This position identifies ways to involve males at the school and oversees the WatchDOGS program scheduling
  • Fun Run Chair and Chair-Elect - Serves as the lead planner of the fall Fun Run for the school. Responsibilities include:
  • Health, Fitness and Well-Being Chair - Organizes Fitness Night and looks to create healthy lifestyles
  • Hospitality - Plan and execute thoughtful treats and activities to support the Allen Elementary Staff throughout the year
  • Multicultural Chair - plans and executes Multicultural Night
  • Parliamentarian - advises the board on governing documents and ensures compliance with local and state requirements. This position is appointed by the President. 
  • Popcorn Chair- Manages the Popcorn Friday fundraiser for the school
  • Recognition Chair - Ensures that all volunteers and sponsors are warmly welcomed and thanked for their contributions. 
  • School Dances Chair - Plans and executes the Fall kickoff dance and the spring end of school dance
  • Silent Auction Chair - Plans and executes a silent auction for the PTA. 
  • Social Media Chair - Drafts and schedules social media communications for the PTA. 
  • Special and Gifted Education Chair - Provides support to the SPED department and teachers. 
  • Social Events Chair - Plans and executes an assortment of events such as Ice Cream Social, Cheers & Tears, etc.
  • Spirit Store Chair - Operates the school store on behalf of the PTA. 
  • Spirit Nights Chair - Coordinates with restaurants and businesses to host Spirit Nights benefitting the PTA
  • Volunteer Coordinator -  Oversees volunteer recruitment, training and assignments
