Run for the “Glow” kicked off on Friday, September 22nd. This is Allen PTA’s only fundraiser of the year. Students will be running laps on October 5th during school to raise money to hopefully purchase some amazing items for our school this year. Also, 20% of all money raised will be donated to schools affected by Hurricane Harvey. We are hoping to raise enough money to purchase flexible learning spaces for each grade level. This includes flexible seating arrangements, tables and rugs. Flexible Learning Spaces have been linked to better productivity in the classroom. Students are more comfortable while reading, writing and learning. We are also raising money for a portable Gaga Ball pit and Teacher mini-grants. 


If we reach our goal of $25,000, then we will pie Mrs. Johnson in the face. If we exceed, that goal, we will also pie Mr. Flagler and Ms. Robinson in the face. 


We are looking for volunteers to join us on the day of the run or to help us prepare for the run. Please click the volunteer link to sign up. Also, make sure to complete the background check before you volunteer. If you are not able to volunteer but would like to come cheer on your student, feel free. Parents and family members are welcome to come cheer on their students on the day of the run. 


On October 20th, we will hold a prize assembly where every student is eligible to win amazing prizes. We announced some of these prizes at the kick off assembly on Friday. Ask your student about their favorite! Every student who raises an additional $50 will receive another entry into the drawing. Students will continue to receive additional entries for every $50 collected. So go get those pledges!!! You can click the link below to set up your child’s online donation page or submit a donation in the pledge envelope that was sent home in the kick off packet. 


Also, make sure to order your spirit sign for your student! This is another great way to cheer them on, especially if you cannot attend the event. The spirit sign order forms were also located in the kick off packet.
